Mt. Hwawang is 757m above sea level and forms the boundary between Changnyeong-eup and Goam-myeon.
Since the past, this mountain has been volcanically active, and hence was called Bulmoe or Large Bulmoe. Also, the reed field and azalea colony is famous nationwide, becoming the pronoun of Mt. Hwawang.
The vast plain with the size of 240,000㎡ is a prairie of reed field. The large-scale basin cut between mountain peaks are entirely covered under the white cotton blanket of reed flowers, being the motive of the annual Reed Festival in October. Furthermore, Mt. Hwawang is very famous for its azalea and royal in Spring, reed prairie in Summer, golden reed waves in Autumn, and white snow in Winter.
